Well, the Los Angeles Times reports, researchers have invented a microneedle patch that administers a flu shot without an injection. This flu patch sticks on the skin and dissolves within five minutes. The microneedle is as long as ten human hairs stacked on top of each other and thinner than a nickel. Researchers gave one group of mice the flu patch and one group a regular vaccination. Both groups of mice were resistant to the flu. With more research we could all get a painless, effective flu shot patch some day.
