SC Commissioner Weathers: NASDA Meeting This Week

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture is meeting in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Commissioner Weathers is there.

NASDA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit association that represents the elected and appointed commissioners, secretaries, and directors of the departments of agriculture in all 50 states and four U.S. territories.

NASDA meetings are a great opportunity to interact with representatives from the different departments of agriculture across the country. We learn a lot from each other by communicating and sharing what’s happening in our respective states.

I’m here with two of our assistant commissioners, Clint Leach and Aaron Wood.

Today we’re meeting with our regional partners in SASDA (Southern Association of State Departments of Agriculture) and SUSTA (Southern US Trade Association).

We’ll be hearing from some key leaders throughout the week including USDA and FDA officials.

Some topics I’ll be following on behalf of SC farmers and citizens:

I’m happy to represent the state of South Carolina here at NASDA.
