Soybean Prices Projected to Decline

This next crop year for soybeans should be an interesting one with…

“Really strong supply growth expected both in the US and in in South America.”

USDA Outlook Chairman Mark Jekanowski says soybean production is expected up around the world.

“The US crop now being planted is expected to be the second biggest ever.”

Mark said we’ll export more beans of course, but not enough to keep stocks from rising. So where does that leave US growers?

“Well, that leaves US growers most likely looking at lower prices for this new crop year.”

So for the expected soybean crop of just under 4.5 billion bushels…

“Season average market price forecast at $11.20 per bushel, down $1.35 year over year.”

About 11% below this past season.
