N.C. State Fair announces 2025 Farm Families of the Day

The North Carolina State Fair announced in a press release Monday that its popular “Farm Family of the Day” program will return for 2025 to recognize the hard work and dedication of farm families across the state.

Now in its fifth year, the program highlights the contributions of families involved in North Carolina’s $111.1 billion agriculture and agribusiness industry. Eleven farm families, nominated by community members or family, were randomly selected to be honored during the fair, which runs Oct. 16-26 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

“From the start, the State Fair was a platform to promote the understanding of new agricultural practices and technology. Today, one of agriculture’s biggest challenges is helping people make the connection between farming and the food they enjoy,” said N.C. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler.

Each winning family will be celebrated on a designated day of the fair with public address announcements, signage on the fairgrounds, and features on the N.C. State Fair and North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) blogs and social media channels. Families also receive a prize pack including fair tickets.

The 2025 Farm Families of the Day are:

  • Oct. 16: Barham Family Farms, Wake Forest
  • Oct. 17: Double R Cattle Services, Hillsborough
  • Oct. 18: Ruby Brown Farm LLC, Leicester
  • Oct. 19: Crooked Creek Farm, Stokes County
  • Oct. 20: Ronnie Moore’s Fruits & Veggies, Newton Grove
  • Oct. 21: G.M. Langdon Family Farm LLC, Angier
  • Oct. 22: Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm, Apex
  • Oct. 23: Miracle Farm, Whitakers
  • Oct. 24: E.B. Harris Livestock, Warrenton
  • Oct. 25: Worley Honey Farm, Leicester
  • Oct. 26: Clapp Farm, Siler City

Troxler emphasized how these families hard work continues to tell the story of farm families.

“[They] tell that story the best because they are out there every day working hard to grow the food, fiber and fuel we need. We look forward to recognizing these eleven farm families at the 2025 N.C. State Fair,” Troxler said.

The fair offers free entertainment, rides, games, livestock displays, family activities, competitions, vendors, and a variety of food, including the fair’s signature deep-fried treats. More information is available at www.ncstatefair.org.
