Partnerships to promote the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This has been historically common collaboration in the five-year period when the new guidelines are issued.
“USDA has long partnered with organizations and companies from across the private sector to promote the DGAs and messaging, with the shared goals of helping consumers make better choices.”
And as Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins pointed out recently, with the latest set of dietary guidelines now in effect until the year 2030:
“Initiation of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, strategic partnerships.”
The secretary explains the partnerships will include various sectors in educating Americans about the new dietary guidelines:
“Grocery retailers, health professional associations, health care corporations, food manufacturers, agricultural producers and media outlets within each relevant points of contact will include registered dietitians and nutritionists, communication staffs, marketing teams and much more.”
Noting the importance of partner participation and how partners can join in with communicating the connection between the dietary guidelines and improved nutrition for Americans:
“Each of these incredible segments of America has something to contribute to the DGA message. Please join us by reaching out to dietaryguidelines@usda.gov.”

“Logistically, USDA will manage the partnership, and the opportunity will be housed at realfood.gov and their website with our partners at HHS.”
As for the DGA role as recommendations for various federal feeding programs, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. offers a real-world example of implementation of the guidelines for meals prepared at military installations, with assistance from a celebrity chef and his foundation focused on nutrition and wellness for veterans, military personnel and first responders.
“I’m not a great chef. I’m good. There are a lot better chefs out there, but what I am good at is coordination.”
“Robert Irvine is changing meals on all the military bases in this country to make them real food, fresh food, locally sourced, whole food. He’s now already in five days, and by the end of this month, he’ll be in 20.”
With the secretary noting initial results of a return of soldiers to mess halls on base for such food offerings versus going to fast-food restaurants for meals.
