RALEIGH, N.C. (WPTF) – Raleigh police say no charges will be filed in connection with a traffic collision that led to the death of a bicyclist.
On Thursday, February 26, at 7:18 p.m., the Raleigh Police Department responded to a reported traffic collision involving a bicyclist and a vehicle at the intersection of Lead Mine and Lynn Roads.
Police say that 65-year-old Elijah Cooper was riding his bicycle through the crosswalk against oncoming traffic with the green light when he was struck and killed.
There was no evidence that the driver of the vehicle involved was impaired. No charges will be filed. The investigation continues.
