This week, a group from the Southeastern Produce Council will visit South Carolina. Tell us more, Commissioner.
- STEP UPP (Southeast Training Education Program for Upcoming Produce Professionals) is a training education program for upcoming produce professionals.
- It’s hosted by SCDA and SEPC, the Southeastern Produce Council.
- The goal is to give retail and foodservice produce professionals a greater understanding of the industry through an emphasis on strategic orientation, personal leadership, and hands-on field experience.
- This year’s group will tour:
- Walther Farms
- Titan Farms
- WP Rawl
- Coosaw Farms
- City Roots
- SCDA’s Consumer Protection Division
- The farm tours will emphasize growers’ processing, packing and growing capabilities.
- The produce business is all about relationships, and it’s wonderful that these young professionals will connect with our growers
