Farm Broadcasters Have Never Been More Needed in Rural America

Farm broadcasters from across the country gathered in Kansas City for Trade Talk—an event that looks a lot like a trade show, except everyone’s trying to bend the ear of a broadcaster.

Leaders from major agricultural groups spent the day giving rapid-fire interviews, including ethanol advocate Brian Jennings. The CEO of the American Coalition for Ethanol says farm radio remains essential.

“Farm broadcasters are critically important to getting the message out, valuable information out to rural America.”

Listeners like Cole Nickerson of the Farmers National Company say that’s exactly why they rely on their favorite stations.

“We live in an area where we don’t have cell access all day long. No matter where you’re at, you can tune in and get that signal and get that information right away.”

Broadcasters recorded hundreds of interviews during the event—keeping farmers informed on markets, policy, and the issues that matter most.
